Our art classes are for exploring techniques. They are generally small so it is similar to having private lessons for a reasonable price.
Every Tuesday and Thursday 10:30AM-11:30 AM: This is a homeschool art class. You can text 702-914-4154 to reserve your spot and then show up and pay in person. It is $15 a session. We will choose from a variety of materials to play with and have a theme for each session.
Tuesday Evenings 6-7:30pm age 12+ : Each Tuesday evening we focus on a different technique. This is age 12+, we don't cover anything inappropriate for kids, it just isn't for the littles.
Thursdays Evenings 6pm-7:30/8pm Age 12+: On Thursday Evenings we explore alternative materials like sewing and embroidery.
October 9- Creepy Mirrors: $25-We will be making tape transfers of various subjects and then putting these on mirrors. You can then add creepy details to the mirrors like paint, cobwebs, etc.
October 2-Paper Mache skulls:$20- We have large and small paper mache skulls to pick from. We will add more paper mache to them to add more defined features. Then we can paint and bedazzle them with your theme of materials.
September 25-Watercolor Beaded Embroidery: $20- We will be making a simple watercolor picture and then adding holes. Then you add embroidery stitches and beads as accents!
September 18- Felted Animals:$20 In this class you pick a kit for a small animal. It includes all the wool along with the special needle and foam. Then you stab to your heart's content! Makes a very cute little animal.
September 11 Sewing Scrap Birds-$20- Lots of people have scraps of fabric that are very small, you can layer these and sew over them to make your own little birds! These can be added to mixed media artwork or other sewing projects.
September 4- Sewing on Alternative Stuff- $20 We will learn how to use a sewing machine to sew straight lines and curved lines on watercolor paper, fabric, and soda cans! We will also learn how to use an awl to punch holes so you can then add embroidery stitches as well.
September 30- Collage Tombstones- We have paper mache tombstones that will be so much fun to decorate!! We will show you how to make raised details and how to layer paint and tissue paper to give it an old look.
September 23-Figure Drawing- This will be a beginner class on figure drawing. We will have a clothed model and we will practice doing quick sketches and fully developed tones. Please bring a sketchbook. We will provide drawing materials.
September 16- Gelli Printing- Gelli printing is a form of printmaking that is a lot of fun and quite surprising. We will provide all the materials!
September 9- Resin Jewelry- We will be using collage materials along with soda can cutouts to make resin jewelry earrings!
September 2- Acrylic Painting Techniques-Let's explore using Acrylic paint but maybe in a different way? We try out using stencils with different thicknesses of paint. Adding acrylic paint markers and metallics. Also using sponges instead of a brush.
